Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won an Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. She grew up within a household that included four brothers. The idea of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of TV movies, film and dramas after that. As with her professional career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. There were two divorces that failed and fought with addiction issues. In 2005, she lost custody of her sole son.
