Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first single was released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. In the following season, the music was played all over Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In the month of October, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song as a solo single on her first album. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within the first week. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
